Hound Dog [30. Dec. 2009 - 21:55]

Brett has had some lovely presents for christmas, one of them (from his nan) makes me laugh, it's a singing Hound Dog.  Here's Brett playing with it (notice my lack of speech because I hate the sound of my own voice on camera! lol)  He plays with it lovely right up until the end, when he finally remembers his casting skills!:-)

Almost Christmas 2009 [22. Dec. 2009 - 21:50]

Christmas 2009 is almost here, and soon after christmas Brett will be celebrating his 3rd birthday, how time flies!  I can't believe how long it's been since I've updated Brett's website!  Brett is doing grand.  He's getting bigger and taller, he is learning lots of new things and continues to amaze us daily!

Over the last 12 months we have seen Brett improve in so many ways, his use of his weak left arm is improving.  We are signing more with Brett now, and I am certain he understands our signs and speech.  His eye-hand co-ordination is improving, and his tolerance of new toys (and people!) is improving.  Brett is getting stronger too and although he doesn't sit unaided yet we have BIG hopes that this won't be long now!

Here is a picture of Brett playing with his playdough during an early learning session......

and this is Brett in his new pushchair.......

and here's a couple of Brett in his shirt and tie looking tres smart!!

Well, we've had an absolutely incredible year!  many many thanks to the wonderful people who have helped us and Brett, you know who you are!  Sharon and Michelle in particular - thank you both!

Oh, one other bit of important news, our 20 year old daughter has decided to make us grandparents at the beginning of June next year, and Brett will be an Uncle!  I still haven't got over the shock yet!:-)  (loving it really!)

Update [ 4. Oct. 2009 - 18:00]

Brett's PEG was changed to a gastrostomy button in August, everything went well (apart from a small delay because Brett did his usual trick of spiking a temp on admission! He likes to keep us on our toes!)

Brett's had a sore mouth lately due to a tooth that's chewing on the side of his tongue, so the MaxFax team are removing it next month under GA at the begining of November, apart from that (and an ordinary common cold last week!) he's doing gooooood!!!! :-)

Some recent pics.................... (plus more have been added in the photo page)

Photos [14. Jun. 2009 - 23:31]

At last I have uploaded a few new photos to the photo section!  Sorry for the lack of recent updates, I tend to put all Brett's latest news on Facebook these days!  Brett continues to make good progress and is working hard with his early learning teacher and also doing lots of physio.  We haven't had a date yet for the PEG to be changed to a button but hopefully it won't be too long now.
